Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched Ayushman Asom Mukhya Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana on the occasion of completed 2 years of BJP Government. Through this AA-MMJA Scheme every eligible citizens will get health treatment of 5 lakhs per family per year. This is one type of cashless insurance scheme of Assam. CM said on the launching event, this is the proof of double engine government because central government runs AB-PMJAY while Assam State Government launched AA-MMJAY.
Under this scheme nearly about 26 lakh families of the state will become beneficiaries and 300 hospitals of the state are under Ayushman Asom Mukhya Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and hospitals covered all over India under AB-PMJAY. One best feature of the scheme is all diseases covered under AA-MMJA Scheme.

Second Phase of AA-MMJAY will be covered more beneficiaries
| After the launching of this scheme CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that in the first phase of AA-MMJAY Scheme total 26 lakh families will be provided benefits of Assam Health Insurance Scheme while in the second phase this figure will increased to 32 lakhs families. it means in the second phase of Ayushman Asom Scheme nearly 6 lakhs beneficiary will be added. |

- Ayushman Asom MukhyaMantri Jan Arogya Yojana launched on 10th May, 2023 to provide cashless insurance to the citizens of the state.
- Under this scheme, more than 2.6 million families become the beneficiaries.
- Assam State Government provides facilities of 5 lakhs rupees for the cashless treatment under AA-MMJA Yojana.
