Friends, Recently on 5th June CM Pinarayi Vijayan launched their dream project from the Time of their first terms called KFON which full form is Kerala Fibre Optic Network. Through implementing the first phase of KFON Scheme Kerala State Government provides high speed internet broadband connection to the households as well as government offices. Nearly 14000 BPL houses and 30,000 Govt Offices will be covered under the Phase 1 of KFON Scheme.

What’s the Need of KFON Scheme in Kerala?

The CPI(M) Govt of Kerala marks that presenting services of Telecom sector via private players are weak in rural areas. Like TELCOS have only limited bandwidth in rural areas because they understand very well that no need of high speed internet connection in the rural areas while government thinks differently and that is everyone are connected with digital infrastructure. That’s why CPI(M) Govt to starts their own Internet Connectivity in Kerala.

Kerala State government aims to provide high speed internet connection to the 14000 BPL Families and 30,000 Govt Offices in the first phase of KFON Scheme. State government decided to 100 BPL families in each 140 constituency of Kerala. While on the date of launching state government already provided benefits of KFON (Kerala Fibre Optic Network) to 17,412 Govt Offices and 2105 BPL Families of the state. Also state government Optical Fibre cable laid down for 9000 houses.

Through Implementation of Kerala Fibre Optic Network Scheme, State government want to covers 30,000 Kilometres of the state even Idamalakudy forest. No one would left behind effect or we can say benefits of KFON Scheme in Kerala.
